We are thrilled to share our special day with those we love most, and it wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for the day we met.
It was November 3, 2016. The Chicago Cubs had just won the World Series the night prior, and we had been chatting with each other on Tinder as a recent match. To celebrate the win, George invited Claire out for drinks at Kingston Mines, a local blues bar and Chicago staple. Claire had worked a long shift and attempted to cancel, to which George replied that he was fine with simply going it alone.
“How dare he go out to the bar without me!” thought Claire to herself. So she went.
We arrived at the Mines and ordered a pair of Coronas. One round turned into two, three, and four. And a few hours later, George saw Claire off to the bus, making her promise she'd text him when she arrived home.
Soon, George became a mainstay at Claire's apartment. He would be over for days on end watching Game of Thrones with Claire, asking her and her roommates, “Am I over too much?” He even bought the apartment new pots and pans because the old ones were “horrendous, like really, really bad.” And thus the relationship had become official.
We visited New Orleans for the first time in 2018 for our two-year anniverasy at the recommendation of Claire's colleagues. We flew in on Halloween night and were immediately swept up by the charm and vivacity that dances thoughout every street of the city. In a serendipitous coincidence, that first night involved witnessing a Second Line parade and meeting a couple who were getting married the following day.
New Orleans folk are among the kindest people we've known on our travels. They'll confer upon you their most prized local recommendations, and in some cases grab you by the arm and hand-deliver you there. This is how we've found some our favorite places for live music and dancing, including Vaughan's and BJ's.
So, we are eager to have you join us in the city that means so much to us. Please explore this website for all the information you may need regarding ceremony, reception, and everything in between. We can't wait to share this joyous occasion with our favorite people—you.
With love,
Claire and George
