F.A.Q.
- Are both events required to attend?
- Not at all! You have the ability to select which events you will be attending in your R.S.V.P. form.
- Are children invited?
- Unfortunately, no. We've decided to make our wedding an adults-only event, with the exception of first cousins. Thank you for understanding!
- What is a second line?
- A second line wedding parade is a lively and traditional New Orleans procession that follows the wedding
ceremony. The “first line” refers to the bride, groom, and the brass band, while the “second
line” is everyone else who joins in the parade, often waving handkerchiefs or parasols and dancing along.
Due to scheduling conflicts, we will be hosting our second line after the welcome party, instead of after the
ceremony. It is expected to last 20-30 minutes. - Is there anything I should bring for the second line?
- Nope! We will provide handkerchiefs and trinkets to pass out to spectators along the route.
- Is it true that I can bring my drink out to the street?
- Yes! New Orleans is an open container city, so feel free to bring your drink with you. Just no glass!
Most bars will provide you with a plastic to-go cup if you ask for one.
- Is there a way to participate in the Second Line without walking in the parade?
- Yes, we can arrange a pedicab to take you! Just reach out to us at
[email protected].
- Can I take photos during the ceremony?
- Please refrain from taking photos, at least during the ceremony.
We hired a phenomenal photographer
and want to allow her to do her best work.
However, the welcome party, second line, and reception are all fair game!
- Will there be food options for guests with dietary restrictions?
- Yes. Please include any dietary restrictions in your R.S.V.P. and we will communicate with our venue and wedding
coordinator accordingly.
- Who is the Matron of Honor?
- Lauren Wolak is Claire's older sister, her idol, and the only reason she's as cool as she is today. She is
married to groomsman, Justin Wolak, and they have two beautiful kids together. Please do not give Lauren any wine
for the duration of this wedding.
- Who is the Best Man?
- Sean Whaley is George's mentor from his first job out of college turned lifelong friend. Sean gave great
pointers to us when we first visited NOLA, as he spent many summers here as a kid. Please do not give Sean any
Malört for the duration of this wedding.
- Do you have any honeymoon plans?
- Yes! We are going to Ireland, Scotland, and Amsterdam in June-July of 2025. We're open to any recommendations that
you may have for those areas. 🙂
